ABOUT HOLIDAY ADDICT

Hi everyone!
Travel can be a life changing for anyone. It certainly was for me.
  • My name is Marina. I am from Moscow, Russia, but I live in the  UK with my husband and my daughter. I  always had a travel bug in me. When I was 22, I was offered a job in Spain and started packing my bags the next day. It was a monumental move for me. I met my husband of 22 years and we travelled a lot together.  After Spain we moved to Thailand, then  Goa in India and eventually came back to my husband's home town, Weymouth in the UK.

I had my own business for 14 years, shop with a little cafe attached to it and a website, I worked hard 6-7 day a week, most of the weekends and summer was off the table as far as holidays go. One week of holiday  in October was a treat, and maybe a few days in February for short city break with my husband. I felt that my life was going by  and I  missed spending time with my daughter. I always dreamed of places I would visit when had the time or when I retired. I started to feeling very down and depressed.  One day I decided: why should I wait until I retire, why don't I travel now. Next thing I closed my business and never looked back.
As I mentioned above, I work full time and this blog is just a hobby. I find a job that I like, most of the times, with plenty holiday allowance. I have a 6 weeks paid holiday and I use it wisely:
-2 weeks summer family holiday

-  1 week with my daughter,
I cherish our girls' trips as they allow me to bond with her

- 1 week with my friends or my husband
It' very important to have some grown up time and let yourself go.  Stay in some cool bar until it closed and have too many drinks, or go dancing. Things you can't do when you holiday with kids

- I always keep 2 weeks for emergency
Maybe some cheap deal come up on the internet. Maybe some of my friends invite me to join them on a girly weekend. Maybe my husband and I decide to have a little romantic getaway. It could be a lot of maybes .

One of mine maybe was 10 days in St. Petersburg & Moscow.

How can I afford all this trips you may ask.  It's all about careful planing. You can travel with style on a shoe string budget like I do.
I hope my blog inspires you to do the same and my little tips and tricks will help you save on your next holiday.
