Dubrovnik
We travelled to Dubrovnik as part of our road trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mostar is only 2 hours by bus, so it was a wise decision to end our trip in Dubrovnik. The bus ride was not great, but we had a free WIFI all the way till we crossed the border into Croatia. Cheap taxi ride from the bus stop to Mlini, the largest and most developed resort along the Dubrovnik Riviera, only 11 km southeast of Dubrovnik, we settled in our lovely apartment just across a road from the beach. We had 2.5 days in Croatia so swim in the beautiful Adriatic sea a must.

Where we stayed
After half a day on the beach, we decided to explore Dubrovnik itself. We took a boat to Dubrovnik from Mlini, return ticket was just £10 and you don't have to use your return in the same day. We stayed late in Dubrovnik that night and  used the return ticket next day. It was a great way to see surrounding and when we arrived in Old Port of Dubrovnik, we knew that we about to see something very special.
City walls
Dubrovnik's main attraction, city walls is almost 2.000 m long, and consists of four fortresses: Minceta, Revelin, St. John, and the Bokar Fortress.
I thought that admission was a bit expensive, 120 kn per person (about £13). It's quite a climb, especially in the heat, but worth it. Walking the walls gives you a bird’s-eye panoramic views of the Old Town and Dubrovnik's harbour. Beware, the city walls can become extremely crowded, people poking with a selfie stick everywhere, try to get the best picture. We all know that Dubrovnik was the main filming location for King’s Landing, a fictional city in Game of Thrones, which make the matter even worth.

Cable Car
I love cable cars and I had to use one in Dubrovnik. Less than four minutes cable ride takes you up to the top where you can enjoy wonderful, but not amazing, the views over Dubrovnik. There is a panoramic bar at the top, expensive again, and a small museum. Round ticket cost about £21 and £8 for a child. It's a one of the most popular attractions in Dubrovnik, but if you give it a miss, you will have £21 to spend on something more enjoyable.
Old Town
The old city is pedestrianized, so you don’t have to worry about traffic as you wander through the marble-paved streets, but be careful. We've seen a lot of accidents on a very slippery marble. Dubrovnik has a fair share of souvenir shops, but be prepare to pay £6 for a fridge magnet and £30 for a Game of Thrones teeshirt. It's also a cafe lovers paradise. We spend all day getting lost in beautiful and steep streets, stopping for a coffee or a wonderful cold Croatian beer. Despite Dubrovnik can feel too touristy is really beautiful, one of its kind city with great photo opportunities everywhere.

Dubrovnik is incredibly crowded and very expensive. We spend the same amount of money in 2 days in Dubrovnik as we did in 8 days in Bosnia. Food aimed for tourist, so it's not as great as you can get in other Croatian destinations. However, Dubrovnik very beautiful and it is certainly a must-visit destination in Croatia, but maybe in April or October, when it's less people and weather not as hot.

Apartments Mamma Mia, Mlini

Mlini is a small village located halfway between Dubrovnik and Cavtat. This small town is well connected with Dubrovnik through regular bus lines. Mlini is backed by dramatic hills and boasts several excellent beaches, lovely promenade with a various bars and restaurants. I thought, this is will be an ideal location. Close to Dubrovnik and well priced one bedroom apartment (sleep 4) with kitchen, fridge and washing machine. The kitchen was a great money saver, because breakfast in the cafes costs more, than you will pay in UK. English breakfast was priced at £10. The host was amazing, and we had a bottle of homemade red wine as a present. Balcony with a lovely view made good surrounding for breakfast and an evening glass of wine. I highly recommend to stay here.
