Things to do in Mamaia

1. Cable car
As I mention several times before, I love cable cars. If I see one, I have to be on one, but my husband not a big lover of heights. Station one located in the area of Aqua Magic and Hotel Perla, ticket 10 Ley (£2) one way, will take you to halfway of the promenade of the Mamaia in the area of Hotel Condor and Hotel Albatros. In the evening, it operates till 6pm, the views are really nice, place all light up, and if you time it right, you can watch a beautiful sunset from above. After dinner in one of the restaurants, it's literally hundreds of them, stroll through the shops, selling everything from souvenirs, shiny rubbish for kids to clothing and handbags, and then get a little tourist train back for 5 Leu (£1). Love it.
2. Aqua Magic Mamaia
Probably the cheapest Aquapark, 70 Leu (about £07747107757 and child (under 150 cm) 35 Leu (about £6.50) for a day ticket. It's not huge, but big enough to spend a day of fun and sunbathing. Please get a locker for 5 Leu, as much as you think that nothing wrong can happened on holiday, it's not a case. Some people had their money lost.

3. Hop on Hop off bus
Bus from Mamaia to Constanta, the third-largest city in Romania, is excellent. Never mind ridiculous price 3 LEU (less than a £1), or you can splash out for full 24-hour ticket for 5 Leu (just over £1), the trip is great. It stops in all main attractions, including Delfinariu. I imagine Constanta is a lovely, beautiful city, but my husband was recovering from a bad back injury, and we couldn't do much of the walking. Bus stops in Tomis Harbour with beautiful views, lovely restaurants and a few boat trips on offer. We took full advantage of it and visited the harbour twice.
4. Dolphinarium
A natural history museum with a planetarium, a popular dolphin show & exotic birds is a delight for children and adults alike. Not huge, but big enough to spend most of your day there. There is free entry for children under 7 and disabled. Adults ticket only £2.30 for the dolphin show, but for £6.50 you can see all four attractions. Students and children over 7 years old get 75% off. It's an amazingly cheap and fun way to spend a day. Hop on hop off bus stops right outside.
5. Constanta’s Abandoned Casino
Included in our Hop on Hop off bus ticket stop near Constanta Casino. It can be a little misleading because it's not a casino anymore. It is actually an abandoned beautiful building full of rich history. The first structure being erected of wood in 1880 designed to be a club and community centre for elite, the most-recent and modern version was built in Art Nouveau style in August 1910. Then it was used for Communist party elite, and the last major repairs took place in 1986-1988. You can't actually go inside, but you can enjoy an evening walk on the beautiful promenade with some cafes and stoles selling snacks and ice cream.
