Tips on travel to Romania
Every year Romania becoming more and more popular destination for travellers from around the world and people speak English in most cafes and restaurants. I would recommend have a translation app install in your phone anyway. In Buzau we were the only foreigner tourist and communication was a small issue. But we had a fun with our app trying to order food.

Most of the cafes and shops take cards. Prices are still very affordable, but you already see the difference between places where tourist coming from all over the world, like Brasov or Bran. Fame of Dracula bring people and locals want to cash up. Lunch with a drink cost us in Brasov at list £15 per person. Buzau or Mamaia, where mostly only Romanian family holiday, prices are half. In Mamaia large slice of very tasty and fresh pizza cost only £1.50 and a large kebab with a drink will set you back about £5. Very beautiful Italian restaurant in Constanta harbour with bottle of wine cost about £40 for 3, including starters and fresh bread. Romania is a great place for budget travelers, but they are also plenty of cute restaurants with a gourmet food for a fracture of a English prices. And if you like Italian food, Romania consider to be one of the best countries for it. I have to say that pizza slices was nicer then we had in Rome or Napoli.

Same price difference apply to accommodation. In Sinaia we paid £31 for 2 nights in very clean 3 star hotel with breakfast and balcony with stunning mountain views, but in Brasov for same 2 nights we paid £77 without breakfast and it was more like a posh hostel with a view to other peoples windows.

Overall in 2 weeks in Romania we spend less then we would in a one week in Greece.

But the experience and the fun we had was priceless
